Michael & Michael 4-9

Day 83 – 1.5 hour                 335 to go

Jesus ate fish twice after He rose from the dead and appeared to the twelve.  Today he was cooking on the beach – He provided a good catch to sell for funds for His Apostles before they went off to preach – He provided a good lesson in casting the nets to both sides, not giving up, & being persistent and hopeful if the nets are empty or are full to bursting – 153 fish (the number of people in the Gospels that received a direct blessing from Jesus) – There is significance in every moment of Scripture – Every verse is meant to be during each prayer day – truly amazing, but truly not surprising

The chapters of DI have followed the daily Mass readings – Monday the hearts of the companions on the road to Emmaus and how their hearts wanted Jesus to stay with them as our hearts should feel - then on Tuesday there is the story of Mary Magdalene and her “blind focus” on finding her missing Lord - her love was total and all consuming as mine should be – another chapter about the “living water”, which is the grace of Jesus “quenching our thirst for the infinite” and thus “making us sharers in the divine nature, and enables us to enter into intimate relations with God”

These verses from 1Peter from the OOR are again about grace and behavioral instructions7 The end of all things is at hand. Therefore, be serious and sober for prayers. 8 Above all, let your love for one another be intense, because love covers a multitude of sins. 4 9 Be hospitable to one another without complaining. 10 As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace. 11 Whoever preaches, let it be with the words of God; whoever serves, let it be with the strength that God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 5  I have thought recently about a talk that would be titled “It’s all about Grace”, which would be about my sister Grace and sanctifying grace.  When I do a talk about behavioral instructions, it would be called “It’s all about Michael” and would be the “what not to do” story of obedience and trust in God.

My chaplet was for the souls in purgatory & my rosary was for the Women’s Acts retreat from St. Dominic’s in Southington

Peace

I probably won’t be posting until Monday since I will be in Pennsylvania for the First Communion of my God-daughter and niece, Anna – please pray for all who will receive the Body and Blood of Jesus for the first time on Divine Mercy Sunday
