Michael & Michael 2-4

Day 21– 1 hour     481.5 to go

Psalm 143 was the first prayer (after the Invitatory) during the morning office – “In the morning let me know your love for I put my TRUST in You.  Make me know the way I should walk: to You I lift up my soul.”  This morning I received some spiritual direction and we talked about how God directs us; but don’t look for specific answers or the big picture.  Again, the component of trust – I have found that when I ask Him for an answer to a specific question and expect a specific answer, He often says, “I am watching and I am steering but you must simply continue to walk in the direction I have pointed you.  He has made it clear that I am on the path and should just continue to confidently move on (thank you Lord for a return to the path-a short time ago I had both feet off the path, was standing right aside it, but was not moving).  Remember in an earlier posting that I was warned to not even look to the right or left but straight ahead – maybe I should buy myself some of those things they put on race horses so they are not distracted by what is going on around them!  Just trust Me michael!
The Divine Intimacy chapter was The Church.  It was a beautiful description of how important the community of faith is to all of our lives.  Here is an interesting statement from that chapter; “To be a “Child of the Church” is the most glorious title for a Christian and second only to that of “Child of God.”  These two titles can never be separated.” – Pray for all of our Christians brothers and sisters that believe that they only need themselves & God: many of them also believing that they only need Scripture and that the Catholic truth of tradition and the Magisterium is not necessary for their salvation.  That’s not what I read in Scripture – He created the church because He wanted us to be community.  Community is His gift to us – remember, even He has three persons; not just one God, but a Son and the love for His Son and His Son for Him, the Holy Ghost.
I also read a wonderful article by our Shepherd, Bishop Cote on the gift of those who chose consecrated life.  Again the theme of service was honored by his thanks to all who walk the walk in the name of ministering to the people of God – Thank you Bishop for your love and appreciation of the work done by the consecrated servants of your diocese.
I leave you with the closing in yesterday’s Magnificat evening prayer from 1Thes 5:23 – “May the God of peace himself make us perfect in holiness.  May He preserve us whole and entire, spirit, soul, and body, irreproachable at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen

My chaplet was for the volunteers in Haiti and my rosary was for my ACTS brother Alan F. & all those who are battling cancer.

Peace
