Michael & Michael 1-28

Day 14 – 1 hour      497 to go

Yesterday’s chapter in DI was very close to my heart, Jesus and His Father’s Will.  Christ’s entire life was about His Father’s will.  He humbled himself to be born in a manger and culminated his mission on Earth by stretching his arms on the cross as he said, “Father….not My will, but Thine be done (Lk 22,42).
As I contemplate my life, I must ask forgiveness for all the things I have done that were not the will of my heavenly as well as my earthly Father.  After I finish this post, I will be praying Psalm 51 to open the morning Divine Office.  Lord, please blot out my offense.
This prayer project has made me (along with countless life occurrences that continue to happen) realize the need for change.  Yes, change is OK; it is possible – it is difficult after 55 years of the roller coaster ride of my faith life; but with the help of Holy Spirit, I can do it.  The end of the Prayer of Abandonment by Thomas Merton I sent to y’all goes like this; Therefore, I will trust you always though I may seem to be lost (& for me usually are) and in the shadow of death.  I will not fear for you are ever with me and you will not leave me to face my perils alone.
I think it’s time I take this to heart & make TRUST a big part of my life journey.  Yesterday, I also watched Joyce Meyer talk about the importance of trust and how we as a people have to stop whining and crying about our weakness and indecision and just TRUST that the Lord’s plan is a better plan.  That we must be PATIENT.  God's time not ours!  That we must believe that He knows what He is doing.  Oh what a stiff-necked people we are!!!!
There was another great lesson in the 1st Letter of Peter in the Morning Office.  “Let your love for one another be CONSTANT, for love covers a multitude of sins.  Be mutually hospitable without complaining.” - Another lesson for the sinner Michael!!!  The evening reading from 1Peter contained a hard lesson for many of us; “Do not return evil for evil or insult for insult. Return a blessing instead.”

My chaplet was for the children of Haiti and my rosary was for the ACTS movement to grow at Our Lady of Lourdes in Gales Ferry.

Peace
