The Journey
The Journey
“Will of the Father” is a journey for me. As I work to turn the control of my life over to my Savior and Lord I still struggle over being patient and faithful to His guidance. On occasion I wrench control away and He willingly allows me to do so. At these times I find myself buffeted by life, banged up by my humanness and confused by my own emptiness. God the Father, Christ the Son and The Holy Spirit wait patiently and then help to lift me up when I ask them to. So I can then brush myself off and rejoin them once again on this spiritual journey.
Mike Olock and I met when we attended the first ACTS retreat here in New England. The ACTS movement was faithfully brought to New England by a group of selfless Brothers from San Antonio, TX. They are modern day apostles and they came to offer the love of Christ to their brothers. All they asked of us was to continue to do the same for others. Mike and I have talked many times about finding a vehicle to share our faith with others. This is what we hope to do with this ministry. We want to use our experiences, our stories, music and our own struggles to help others discover and begin or enhance their own journey with the Father. We are not Theologians by any means. If ever we speak or act in any way which deviates from the teachings and tenants of our faith, we are prayerfully prepared and expect your challenge.
First and foremost we love Christ, the Church that He founded and all that, that Church the Catholic Church stands for. While some have become disillusioned and have fallen away, we are standing firm. They’ll cite scandal and disagreement with their lifestyles and in Church beliefs. Scandals exist in all the churches and organizations of the world. Adam and Eve lived in the garden with God yet they fell into scandal. We believe that you cannot blame God or His church for the weaknesses that are intrinsically human. There are those outside the faith who believe all manner of ill against us. We believe they do not know the Church. They are misguided, misdirected or bad intentioned. We are compelled to dispel the myths and distortions about our faith. If we are wrong, then all other faiths which have been built upon the original foundation which Christ laid would also have to be wrong. We believe.
As time goes on I will continue to try and illustrate the ways in which God continues to touch my life and the lives of others. My hope is that by doing so you will see how God touches yours.
Welcome aboard,
Dan Dufresne
